Northwoods Adventures is happy to offer a few different Michigan rafting trips:

½ Day Menominee River Trip: This is our most asked for Michigan rafting trip. The journey begins at the Outpost and after a short shuttle to the put-in, the trip begins. On the river you will float on the flat water for approximately 30 minutes (depending on water flow). When you reach Pier’s Gorge you will take a short break to look over what you are about to do. You will run the rapids and park the raft on the other side, take a short walk up the trail, and do it again. After the trip our shuttle will bring you back to the Outpost where you will be able to view your photos. The ½ Day trip departs from the Outpost twice daily from May-September at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. This trip is approximately three hours in length.

Pier’s Gorge Sunset Cruise: The Sunset Cruise is an ‘Express Format’ Piers Gorge trip and is very similar to our Piers Gorge 1/2 day adventure we all have come to know and love. Join us out on the water without the crowds, with increased wildlife viewing opportunities and better mood lighting. The SSC is available due to the extended length of the day in the time around the Summer Solstice. Northwoods Adventures has a limited schedule of these exclusive trips that are available for the 2014 season in July and August, additional dates may be available upon request.

Sturgeon River Trip: A controversial Dam removal on the Sturgeon River in 2007-09 is responsible for the restoration of wild flows on the Sturgeon and the re-emergence of the rivers natural features after 100 years of submersion. This fast, narrow walled, hard hitting stretch of technical whitewater is a formidable adversary at good water flows, there is very little room for error on this solid Class IV-V raft run. The Boaters downfall to a small Class IV-V wild river is that it is completely dependent on surface precipitation for flows that are sufficient enough to allow larger rafts. Northwoods Adventures employs only the best guides. Every guide is required to attend Guide School and CPR/First Aid Certification classes. Safety and Hospitality are the most important part of Northwoods Adventures. We have the most up to date equipment and replace our PFD’s and Helmets before their life cycle has ended. We do not overload our rafts, every raft has no more than 8 people plus the guide. If you are looking for that one of a kind experience, Northwoods Adventures is the place to be.
