All of our boards are of the highest quality, and our expert guides can help you choose the best rental to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable adventure.

Choosing a paddle board adventure means you will almost experience walking on water. SUPing, or stand up paddleboarding, puts you on top of the water where you can enjoy your experience from a unique perspective. We offer SUP rentals and all the gear you’ll need to get started. This one is an oldie but a goodie! There is no better way to explore the lakes and rivers of our beautiful area than in a canoe. There are acres of scenic freshwater lakes and endless miles of rivers, wandering though the middle of dense northern forests. Breathtaking views are not in short supply.

The best thing about a canoe is that you don't need to be a professional paddler to navigate. Anyone can paddle a canoe, and our friendly and knowledgeable staff is here to help! We will make sure you have everything you need, whether you are taking a canoe on an epic week long paddling adventure or a leisurely day trip.

Tubing down a river during the summer in the U.P. is as good as life gets, and at True North Outpost that adventure is closer to home than ever.

Our tubes are perfect for literally anyone. Our amazing adventure staff will make sure you have everything you need, whether you want to take our tubes to the lake for the week or just go for a short float down the river right next to the outpost we have you covered. And when you rent 4 or more tubes you get a free cooler tube so you can carry all your cold drinks with you on your float. Just please don’t litter.

If you want to try something different and need we say, more daring, a duckie is your answer. A duckie is an inflatable kayak, or IK that allows you to paddle right into the heart of the action. A favorite among beginners, renting a duckie is an excellent way to get a feel for what kayaking is all about.

Duckies come in one-person and two-person styles, so they allow you to enjoy a solo adventure or hit the river with a friend or loved one. Either way, duckies provide a sense of independence on the river, even for inexperienced paddlers. Duckies are a fun and safe way to see the river and experience the thrill of paddling through whitewater on your own or with a companion.

At True North Outpost we offer duckie rentals and all the gear needed to enjoy a trip down the river. Because duckies are stable and forgiving, they are a great way to experience an independent adventure during your trip to Upper Michigan, while soaking up all that our whitewater has to offer.
